UniRing® - Universal Annuloplasty System
Péters Surgical have specialised for over 30 years in the development of surgical techniques that improve the success rate of Mitral Valve Repair (MVR).
We are very pleased and excited to announce that Péters Surgical has developed a unique and innovative annuloplasty ring which can be used for either Mitral Valve or Tricuspid Valve Repair and is designed so that one size fits all annulus circumferences. This product, called UniRing® has been developed by Dr William F. Northrup III who developed a Universal Annuloplasty system.
UniRing® comprises a complete set with 9 double sided sizers (mitral and tricuspid), 2 handles and a ring fixed on an exclusive template to stabilize the ring during suturing. The ring is made up of 15 implantable rigid oval polyester platforms in sequence, each with 2 suture-holes 3 mm apart.
White polyester thread is braided over the platforms and heat-sealed at each joint, leaving 2 mm flexible joints between the platforms; this combination of rigid elements and flexible joints allows the ring to flex in full 3D motion to match the shape of the annulus .
